Full-time film-maker for 25 years. Began as
a director of commercials, documentaries, and promotional
films; then moved on to music videos; then television programming
and feature films. Written over 30 screenplays. 11 of these
produced; all but 5 either optioned or commissioned.
Writer, creative consultant and producer on
the "Ernest" series of movies for Disney/Touchstone:
Ernest Goes To Camp, Ernest Scared Stupid, etc.
Writer, director and executive producer on
additional "Ernest" movies produced independently
for Emshell Productions: Ernest Rides Again, Ernest Goes
to School, etc.
Directed and produced Emmy-award-winning children's
television series for CBS: "Hey Vern...It's Ernest!"
Developed an original screenplay for Paramount
Pictures: Bill and Coo. Has worked with HBO, Imagine Entertainment,
Castle Rock Entertainment. CBS Television and others.
Written and directed theatrical productions
and live shows--from comedy revues and drama to modern dance
and mixed media.
Recently, co-wrote and directed the popular
cult musical feature film Existo which has won numerous
awards and a growing fan-base on the independent festival
circuit.
Currently, writing a feature film based on
the life and work of Brother Dave Gardner-legendary southern
comedian-and developing a dramatic television series set
in Nashville.
